From President James Duggan's message for the conference:

Think back over your life this past year - or maybe even just this past week - and calculate the number of times you used innovation and creativity to solve a problem or help someone. Law librarianship is constantly changing, and we must innovate as a profession to stay current. New challenges and opportunities appear on a daily basis, requiring us to be both innovative and inventive. Every new computer database, cataloging rule, or Web site provides the opportunity for innovation, allowing us to take the full advantage of those changes and incorporate them in our work.
