Law office technology and practice management conference focused on broad range of law firm practices and resources. Excellent conference for range of diverse practice technology issues for any lawyer or firm interested in taking advantage of current or emerging technology.
Event 2010 ABA Techshow (Hilton Hotel Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, from Mar 25, 2010 09:00 AM to Mar 27, 2010 12:00 PM) by David Whelan
The American Bar Association Techshow, put on by the Law Practice Management Section, remains a great resource for anyone interested in legal technology. Unlike many bar association solo/small firm conferences, the entire focus is law practice technology. If you feel as though your practice could benefit from a technology application, this is the place to see the vendors and listen to the latest trends.

The Special Libraries Association annual conference will be in Washington D.C. this year, and promises a good selection of programming. Librarians who are used to paying a registration fee and seeing a lot of free programming will have to hunt a bit at SLA, where many of the programs have an additional fee. Look beyond your own special library type and you'll find lots of interesting innovations under way.
Event AALL 2009 Annual Meeting (Washington D.C. Convention Center, from Jul 25, 2009 08:00 AM to Jul 28, 2009 05:00 PM) by David Whelan
Still one of the most important law librarian conferences to attend, with great networking opportunities. 2009 may be a bit challenging as Special Libraries Association (SLA) is also meeting in Washington D.C. in June.
Event Computers in Libraries 2009 (Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia, from Mar 30, 2009 08:00 AM to Apr 01, 2009 05:00 PM) by David Whelan
The conference that bills itself as the "largest technology conference and exhibition for librarians and information managers". The sessions are valuable for almost any library - public, academic, special - although the exhibits may be less relevant depending on your organization. Definitely worth going to if you can manage it.
Event ABA Techshow 2009 (Chicago, Illinois, from Apr 02, 2009 04:00 PM to Apr 04, 2009 07:55 PM) by David Whelan

Event Special Libraries Association 2008 (Washington State Convention Center, from Jun 15, 2008 12:00 PM to Jun 18, 2008 12:00 PM) by David Whelan
The Special Libraries Association (SLA) meeting is in Seattle, Washington, this year. It's the leading programmatic conference for special librarians. Although the Legal Division sponsors law-related programming that is practical, attendees will find that lots of other divisions offer free sessions that are complementary to information management in law firms.

The annual meeting of Canadian Association of Law Libraries / Association Canadienne des Bibliotheques de Droit is in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2008. This will be my first but it's clearly the place where the Canadian law library world gathers each year.
Event ABA Techshow 2008 (Chicago, Illinois, from Mar 13, 2008 08:00 PM to Mar 15, 2008 11:55 PM) by David Whelan
